Rohtak, June 14: In the wake of the possibility of increasing the number of corona patients, the district administration has geared up to deal with any situation and an effective strategy has been prepared for this so that the patients are provided with proper medical care for treatment. Deputy Commissioner RS Verma said that at present, 11 Kovid Care Centers have been established in the district and about 1.1500 beds have been provided.
He said that under the strategy, 3500 beds will be arranged for the patients of Corona in the district. Deputy Commissioner Verma said that the district has a provision of 204 ventilators, out of which 155 ventilators are in PGIMS Rohtak and in the coming time their capacity can be increased to 250 as per the requirement. Civil Hospital Rohtak has three ventilators while private hospitals have 46 ventilators. The Deputy Commissioner said that there are more than 2600 Personal Protective Equivalent (PPE) available in the district and more than 2500 N-95 masks are available to fight the corona.
Also, more than 2 lakh triple-layer surgical masks are available. The district administration also has about 50 thousand cloth masks made by people of various institutions. Deputy Commissioner Verma said that so far there have been positive reports of 287 people, out of which 64 people have recovered and gone to their homes, while 6 people have died. In PGIMS Rohtak, 54 people are undergoing treatment and 163 people are under home isolation. He also said that samples of 14703 people have been taken so far, out of which 50 results are pending while the report of all the remaining people is negative.
Deputy Commissioner RS Verma informed that a machine has been made available for sanitization in all the blocks of the district. He informed that 3 foggers have been given to PGIMS Rohtak by the district administration. Sodium chloride solution is available in sufficient quantity for all the villages in the district. Deputy Commissioner Verma also informed that a hand free sanitizer will be provided at all public dealing sites like Patwar Ghar, Village Secretariat, Common Service Center, and Anganwadi Center, etc. He also informed that during Lockdown, more than 2 thousand metric tons of ration have been distributed to the needy people.
Appreciating the NGOs, Deputy Commissioner Verma said that these institutions have done remarkable work during Lockdown. He said that the district administration is organized continuously with NGOs and the Indian Medical Association and these institutions have assured that they will fully cooperate with the district administration to deal with any situation. Deputy Commissioner Verma also informed that about 20 thousand migrant workers have been sent to their homes. He informed that under the Punjab Factory Act in the district, there are 2500 and a half small and large factories and have started working in about 2 thousand units. More than 40 thousand workers are employed in factories and other works.
